COSMETICS - Tips For Kissable Lips

  1. Apply Vaseline to your lips each night before bedtime.
  2. Keep an extra toothbrush handy and use it to lightly brush the surface of your lips each day upon rising to remove dead or dry skin.
  3. Always use a water-resistant lip balm with SPF protection.
  4. Use a lip liner that is close to your natural lip color.
  5. When applying lipstick, blot your lipstick with a tissue after applying each layer. This will give your base lip color extra staying power.
  6. February is a perfect time to try fun, flirty shades in pink, red or berry.
  7. After applying your lipstick, finish off your look with a soft, shiny lipgloss.

HOW TO APPLY EYE MAKEUP

A Guide for Beginners to the World of Eye Shadow, Eye Liner, and Mascara!

First, purchase a good quality eye shadow. What you're looking for is colors that will look good on your skin color. Think of your wardrobe and your color preferences. What colors do you get most compliments in? Look for these colors. But when searching for the perfect eye shadow, make sure that the eye shadow has at least three colors in it. Usually, if they come in a case of three, the colors range from lightest to darkest. This is the kind of color palette needed.

Second, choose a mascara in a black/brown color, as well as a good eyeliner. Find a good mascara that goes on smooth and lasts a very long time.

Next, pick up some make-up remover and cotton swabs to fix any mistakes. If you would like to try a Neutrogena(R) or Dove(R) Facial Cleansing Cloth you can get a free sample by Clicking Here. Also, get a few extra eye shadow brushes so you won't mix and match colors on the same brush.

Now you're ready to begin your eye's beautifying routine.

Begin with the lightest color first. Cover the whole eyelid all the way to the eyebrow with the lightest color. This is going to be known as the highlighter. Then, the medium color in your palette is going to be used next. This color is applied only on your eyelid, and nowhere else. Try to lightly blend the eye shadow with the eye shadow brush so that it doesn't look too harsh against your skin. Remember to keep it in the eyelid area, don't extend anywhere close to the eyebrows.

Now you're ready to use the dark color. Use the dark color sparingly - too much will be too harsh looking! Apply a small amount of the darker eye shadow on the eye shadow brush. Only apply the darker color on one half of the eyelid, but not near your nose. You want to apply the darker eye shadow near your outer eyelid and wing it out a little. By winging it out, that means extending the eye shadow a tiny bit away from the corner of your eye, in an upward motion. This is a little daring, but makes for a beautiful effect if you're brave enough to try it!

Make sure that when you apply each color layer, blend well so that no hard lines will show. The effect you're trying to go for is a seamless, beautiful, and blended effect which works well for all coordinating color palettes. Check the eyes shadow in a mirror to make sure both eyes are even.

Now when both eyes are evenly colored, it's time to apply the eyeliner. If you have wide, big eyes, the idea is to use the eyeliner on both the top and bottom lash lines. If your eyes are smaller, you're going to only apply the eyeliner on your top lash line. If you've a newbie, applying eyeliner is not too difficult. With your eyeliner, make five tiny dots across your upper lash line. Make sure they are evenly spaced out across your lash line. For example, two dots should be at the corner of your eye, one dot in the middle of your lash line, and two dots beside that middle dot. Now, connect the dots, one at a time. You should have a pretty good line right beside your lash line. Now, if you're lining the bottom, it's a little tricky. You have to pull a little on the skin below your lower lash line and bring out the inner rim of your eye a little. With tiny strokes, color in the rim of your eye, right above you bottom lashes.

Mascara is fairly easy to apply. The key to mascara is to only apply it at the tips of your lashes to avoid clumps and globs from forming.

That's it! Enjoy the compliments, and congratulations on a job well done!

Bobbi Brown’s Top 10 Wedding Beauty Tips - By Bobbi Brown Beauty Expert

Beauty expert shares her advice on how to get a gorgeous, glowing look

You’re in search of the perfect dress, invitation, photographer, music, flowers and more. But there is just one more thing: your face. Wedding day beauty should be a priority.

This is the one day when you are guaranteed to be the star attraction. It’s natural to feel pressure since you know everyone will be looking at you. This is not the moment to try anything tricky or novel, nor is it the moment to experiment with look-of-the-moment makeup. Beauty trends change as quickly as fashion trends, so it’s best to look timelessly beautiful. Those photographs in your wedding album are forever — you don't want to look at them in 20 years and see a hopelessly dated look.

All your makeup should be strong, pretty and incorporate long-wear products that look best in photography. To make sure you use them the right way, consider Bobbi’s top 10 wedding day tips:

  1. Flash photography emphasizes pink tones, so be sure to even out skin with a yellow-toned foundation. Start around the nose and mouth where there’s redness, then blend out to the rest of the face.
  2. Set concealer and foundation with sheer-finish loose powder to make them longer-lasting and to ensure that skin doesn’t shine in pictures.
  3. If your dress has an open neckline, be sure to warm up your neck and chest with a dusting of bronzing powder.
  4. Even if you think you won’t cry, chances are you will. Use a water-resistant eyeliner that can withstand tears. Try Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner applied with the Ultra Fine Liner Brush. If you prefer to line with shadow, make it longer-lasting by applying it with a slightly damp eyeliner brush. Finish with a water-resistant mascara like Bobbie Brown Lash Glamour.
  5. After applying all your eye makeup, finish with a highlighter shade on the browbone for a bright-eyed effect. Rub your finger in a light matte shade and pat lightly on the outer corner of the browbone.
  6. For a pretty flush that lasts, use two shades of blush. First, apply a neutral shade on the apples of cheeks, blending up into the hairline, then downward for a softer look. Then apply a brighter shade just on the apples of the cheeks.
  7. Neutral and pale lip colors look washed out in photographs, so choose a lipstick that’s one to two shades brighter than what you normally wear. Pinks, roses and plums are great choices for brides.
  8. To make sure your lip color lasts longer, line and fill in lips with a neutral lip pencil before applying your lipstick.
  9. Carry a touch-up kit with concealer, pressed powder, lipstick or gloss, lip liner, tissues and mints. Also, make sure you have a mini sewing kit (for emergency clothing fixes like a dropped hem or popped button), static spray, a lint remover and prewrapped wipes to remove makeup and food stains.
  10. It’s your big day. Take a deep breath and have fun!

Pre-wedding Wellness Tips

Eat smart: Choose whole grains, fresh greens and fruits, and clean proteins like chicken, fish and beans.

Hydrate: Drink lots of water daily to hydrate skin and flush out toxins.

Move your body: Exercise at least three times a week to strengthen your body and calm your mind.

Take relaxing baths: Add soothing Epsom salts or skin-softening powdered milk to your bath water.

Be present: Slow down and appreciate what’s around you, rather than rushing to get from start to finish.

How to not sabotage your wedding looks: Get a facial two weeks before the event. You’ll have glowing skin without any chance of post-extraction redness.

Avoid getting too much sun just before the wedding: Who wants a sunburn or visible tan lines on their big day?

Get a trim and touch up your roots: Don’t spontaneously go bright blond or fire-engine red. Save dramatic changes for later.

Hands off: If you have a blemish or a breakout just before your day, keep your hands off your face. Don’t pick, squeeze, or attack — it is almost impossible to cover a scab. Believe me, you’ll look much better if you just leave it alone.
